Ukrainian Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Organic Disorders of Nervous System, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, was established in September, 1996 as a result of collaboration between Ukrainian and German health professionals. It became possible due to significant contribution and efforts of the physicians from Pediatric Rehabilitation Centre in Munich, Ministry of Labor, Social protection, Family, Women and Health of Bavaria (Germany), Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This international project was implemented with the financial support from the worldwide known concern Volkswagen.

The Centre provides high quality care i.e. consultations, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation for children from all over Ukraine. "Tandem" is an approach chosen by the Centre. It is approved by WHO and is based on combining medical and social aspects of rehabilitation. A child, who is developmentally delayed for various reasons, can be taught many things and helped to adapt within a society. Rehabilitation treatment is provided by a team of health experts - an orthopedic specialist who is responsible for orthopedic correction, a Vojta therapist, a physiotherapist, a neuro-geneticist, a teacher, a speech therapist, a Montessori-therapist, a reflexo-therapist. A child is followed up by a neurologist and a psychologist. |

Disorders managed at the Centre |
- Organic pre- and perinatal disorders of nervous system with hydrocephalic syndrom, seizures, epileptic bulbar and pseudo-bulbar syndroms, motor disorders (paresis, palsy, hyper-kinesis), statokinetic and psycho-motor developmental delay.
- Cerebral palsy
- Complications after meningitis, encephalitis, myelitis, poliomyelitis type diseases, poliradiculoneuropathy, neuritis, non-specific diseases of nervous system, congenital infectious damage to nervous system (TORCH infections)
- Complications after post-natal acute brain circulation disorders, traumatic damage to the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves
- Rehabilitation after neurosurgeries
- Epilepsy and epileptic syndroms
- Hereditary degenerative diseases of the nervous system
